ACD Direct is an excellent company to work for if you need something extremely flexible. At ACD Direct you would be answering phone calls for several different clients. The work is fun, easy and non-stressful!
If you get hired on with ACD Direct you will be required to pass a criminal background check, at your expense. You will also be required to go through some basic training which typically last a total of 6 hours.
You will also be required to work a minimum of 5 to 10 shifts a month.
You will schedule your shift in 1/2 hour increments and there are shifts available 24/7 365 days a year.
There are lots of options to move up within the company.
You are paid by the minute and typically there is no pay guarantee.
ACD Direct pays twice a month through direct deposit.
There is a very strict no background noise policy in place. If you do not have a quiet area in your home, I strongly suggest not applying.
The biggest complain from most agents is the call volume can be very slow at times. It would be hard to make a full-time income with ACD but if you are just looking for a little extra money, I would recommend ACD.
You can submit an application here.

I’ve heard good things about ACD Direct! I think if I could do a phone job from home, this would be one of the first places I would probably check with. Great review!

The people at ACD really are nice and there is a lot of support. I have been with ACD for about a year and my one and only complaint is the no guarantee pay but even with that I’m still very happy there.
Thanks ACD sounds like a place to work! Thanks for sharing with us!

I have been with ACD for over 3 years now and love it. I will never leave lol.
Thank you so much for posting Laura. It is nice to hear how happy another agent is.

Anyone can apply for ACD, good luck!!
Can someone please explain to me the policy of “You are paid by the minute and typically there is no pay guarantee.” Thanks!
Most work at home phone jobs pay by the minute, I hope I can explain it right.
So a company says they will pay you .10 cents a minute. If you talked for 60 minutes straight you would earn $6 for that hour. If you only talked for 6 minutes that hour you would have earned .60 cents in an hour. ACD pays per minute with no guarantee. Other companies pay per minute with some sort of guarantee per pay. Working Solutions is a company that offers a guarantee. If I only talked for 6 minutes out of an hour with working solutions they would guarantee that I would be paid for at least 30 minutes of talk time.
I really hope that made sense and please don’t think these companies pay 10 cents a minute. I just used that as an example lol.
ACD does not pay 6 cents per talk minute, but 23 cents per talk min up to 35 cents per talk min.
Have you heard of Arise? They sound similar to this company. Thanks for the information though, its always good to have options.

Yes, I actually used to work for Arise and I plan on doing a review on them soon. However, Arise and ACD are night and day different in so many ways. I wish I could explain more but due to a NDA I can’t go into a ton of detail.
Hello,
I am so excited. I became certified last week to work for ACD Direct. I just completed the Online Training and took all 5 or 6 Online Exams as well. I just sent ACD my Exam results and waiting on my next step which I think is my Role Play? Not sure. (smile)
How soon after that, can I begin working?
I am just curious about working for them. I completely understand that it is a pay per minute wage and I am totally comfortable with that. This will be a supplemental income for me while I am at home taking care of a very ill loved one. I just was concern as to what other opportunities are there besides PBS, NPR and other charities/non profit organizations that we can work for through ACD Direct?
Also, can you give me a average on how much can a individual make during Peak Season working 8 hours a day and also working Low Season 8 hours a day?
I truly look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I truly wish I could give you a good estimate on how much you can make with ACD but I really don’t know. ACD is a 24 hour operation and the busy times vary depending on what types of drives they are having. I will say that I think it would be extremely hard to make a full-time income with ACD alone. There are times when I don’t get any calls and other times I am back to back with calls. You are coming in at a good time since March is a big drive month. You should be up and working very soon! If you have any other questions just send me an email, I would be glad to help you out.
Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply.
I received a response from ACD inviting me to take the “Role Play”. I tried to practice some Role Plays by myself but I feel lost. UUUGGGGHHHH! (smile/laugh) Any pointers or advice you may have for the Role Play that I will take? Was it hard/difficult? How many Role Plays does the Facilitator have with you to determine if you pass or not?
Again, any advice will help. Totally scared! (smile)
The role play is really easy. You are basically just going to walk through the script. Take your time and make sure to verify every since letter using the Alpha phonetics. As long as you take your time, verify everything and follow the script you will be just fine.
