As I was browsing Facebook last night, I came across a post from a local non-profit organization called Human Traffic Abolitionist Group (HTAG). After reading their latest post I realized January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. I also realized that this is a huge issue that really does not get enough attention. As a blogger with the ability to reach a lot of people I felt it was my duty to write a blog post on this issue and do my part to spread the awareness.
Human Trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery and there is an estimated 27 million people enslaved around the world with 13 million of those being children. Most victims are used for forced labor and sexual services.
Human Trafficking is not just a problem in other countries, this is happening here in the United States every single day! In fact The United States of America has the 3rd highest population of enslaved victims.
For more information on Human Trafficking visit Human Traffic Abolitionist Group and also like their Facebook page HTAGUSA.
Please take the time to share this post with your friends, family and social media fans! The more people who are aware of this issue the faster we can help prevent another person from becoming a victim.

I have seen several movies and documentaries on this subject. It is great you are getting the word out there! It is so sad. I hope lots of people shares this post and maybe it will raise an awareness! Thanks for this post!

It really is an issue that needs more exposure. I am happy to say that my state (California) just passed a law that would increase jail time for human trafficking violations.
Wow I didn’t realize that the US had that many. Great awareness piece will be sharing.
